11% of Annapolis Midshipmen earned the rank of Eagle Scout, 25% were members of the BSA
12% of USAF Academy Cadets earned the rank of Eagle Scout, 23% were members of the BSA
15% of West Point Cadets earned the rank of Eagle Scout, 35% were members of the BSA
12% of all NASA Astronauts earned the rank of Eagle Scout, 57% were members of the BSA.
In the 112th Congress, 5% earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and 36% were members of the BSA.

The nearly 8,080 San Diego and Imperial County volunteers donate an average of 20 hours per month to the
BSA, totaling 1,939,200 hours in one year. Independent Sector projects the average value of this time to
be $23.40 an hour, which equates to $45,3777,280.*

The San Diego Imperial Council serves nearly 28,000 youth in the San Diego and Imperial Counties. A budget of over $4 million is needed to provide the facilities, support materials, programs, activities and leadership for our community.
The annual FOS is planned, directed, and conducted by volunteers. There is virtually no other volunteer-run fund raising campaign of this magnitude in the United States!
